Random Bits

I wrote this-week-in-blogging off a few days ago; but rather than posting exhaustive-ottomottopea again, here's some random thoughts on my mind for February the 13th, 2009:
  • It's snowing again... bloody miserable... is this London? (A: No. Des Moines' culture is put in place by a group of city planners who apparently like a lot of stuff, but don't really love anything).
  • Pitchers and catchers report today. I'm boning up (did this phrase come from a dude who instead of studying at his girlfriend's, started "boning up" on her?) on my knowledge of other teams for my return to fantasy baseball management. If I were the manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates, my opening day line-up would be: Nate McClouth (CF), Jack Wilson (SS), Craig Monroe (LF), Ryan Doumit (C), Adam LaRoche (1B), Eric Hinske (RF) Andy LaRoche (3B), Ian Snell (P), Freddy Sanchez (2B). I doubt it'll look like that...
  • I wish I could find last night's premiere of "Delocated" to stream online.
  • Important Things w/ Demetri Martin was as good as I suspected it'd be. I had no expectations. I suspect that I probably should've used expected in the first instance. Oh well.
  • The College Humor Show wasn't too bad... actually, I may have enjoyed it. < /backhanded-praise >
  • Still haven't seen How's Your News? I don't think I'll care for it... but maybe I'll watch it every once and a while, if you pay me... like a babysitter.
  • What to do for lunch today? I have to go out and make a car payment. Maybe I'll get some Arby's on the way back? Damn. Everything good at Arby's is beef or ham on a chicken sandwich... maybe I'll get some China.
  • I have three scripts to type up. That's better than no scripts, but I should probably write a couple more. Short Shorts 2009.
  • I bought my Louis CK ticket. I'm considering also buying a ticket to see Ben Folds next month. They went on sale two hours ago... maybe they're sold out now? Eh.
  • JB was just online and then off! I bet he'd eat China with me... if he had a long enough brake from the Home & Gardens expo... lawl.
  • I just made what I believe to be a pretty killer Robin Williams reference on facebook.
  • I'm considering only attempting to blog on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The 30 visits I've had this week aren't very encouraging.

UNBLOG'ABLE THINGS ON MY MIND:

  • Bandit Burrito or Shangri-La or Hong Kong or Hu Hot?
  • Why was I at a Denver multi-plex, connected to the Bronco's football stadium in my dream last night?
  • Why was the stadium surrounded by a field of interconnected trampolines!?!
  • Was the little boy who fell off actually me?
  • It's really cold outside.
  • A water main blew a few blocks from my house this morning. The Des Moines Register informed me via Twitter, when I woke up at 11am.
  • Twitter is my favorite.
  • @greggrunberg is a New Jersey Informant in Baseketball. Lawl.
  • @steveagee is on the Sarah Silverman Program. Season One of which, I purchased last week for $7.50.
  • Why aren't @DougBenson and @arjbarker following each other? They were in the Marijuanalogs together. Did they have a skrilla squabble?
  • @arjbarker was also in Super High Me.
  • Zach Galifianakis referred to the UCB guys as "a cult" in Super High Me.
  • Zach Galifianakis doesn't have a twitter yet (to my knowledge).
  • I'm pretty sure I'll be taking a vacation to Los Angeles, CA in April. Round trip airfare is only $285.
  • I've never flown before and the idea kinda terrifies me.
  • I hope to visit on a Friday when @DougBenson is recording an "I Love Movies" Podcast.
  • If I get ahold of Sir, we'll go to Hong Kong or @BanditBurrito.
  • If I get ahold of JB, we'll go to Shangri-La or Burger King.
  • I really don't want Burger King.
  • I'm pretty psyched that the Whitest Kids U Know (@WKUK) have a movie coming out in March. It is entitled "Miss March" and looks like my cup o' tea.
  • I hear that "Mystery Team" is written and directed by the guy who made the infamous "Bro Rape" video.
  • Both are indie comedies that aren't likely to show @FleurCinema.
  • The multi-plex in my dream was named "The Fleur."
  • It featured washing machines in the back row of the auditorium's second level seating.
  • That's two weird theater dreams in one week.
  • Still only one dream featuring Swamp Thing though...
  • Time to make lunch happen.
  • I need to go pay a bill too... ugh.

podcasts and comics undt fun

BLOG FAIL ALERT:
There will be no blog today because I'm catching up on podcasts and comics, riding the bike, eating food, printing fliers, and probably not being around the home 'til late this evening.

RANDOM JOKE?

I'm going to form an homage to mid-90s pop/alternative band called "Well Enough Alone." Eventually, we'll probably be called W.E.A. By that time though, I plan to quit the band. There'll be a press release stating, "Billy to leave Well Enough Alone." I'll take a regular job and in my free time, I'll write my memoirs. I'll entitle them, "I Knew I Could."

No post today [yesterday (Friday)].

Two new projects in the works?

Maybe only one...

THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE!!!

(This has absolutely nothing and everything to do with The Highlander)

Timesnake 2, Geneapagos.

I have to be at work in a half-hour, so no entry today! HOORAY! I have some catching up to do in filmtown... Slumdog Millionaire, Doubt, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button are all at the theater and I haven't seen any of them... Until I do, I can't put up my favorite films of the year. I'm already going to have to post it sans viewing of The Wrestler and JCVD, which aren't going to be in Des Moines until mid-January (the latter maybe not at all). I'm pretty sure JCVD will be the best movie of all time though.

HOE-MA y MOGOMRA!

Best Breakfast of Today, 2008: Strawberry Pop-Tarts! (I'm eating a pair right now; srsly)

No blog entry of any substance (no firsts!) today as I'm going to begin the task of finishing my 'best of' lists (I'm worried that if I don't, Blogger will disable my account). Enjoy Pop-Tarts.

<-- Yesterday? OOPS!

As you can see, I did not update anything 'round these parts yesterday (Friday). There was no time, what with the sleeping and the working and the poker and the getting pulled over and the setting up the parents' new computer and the sleeping again. Yet, here I am just before that sleep refrain... just dropping in to recognize that I missed yesterday, which pretty much makes this entire last week a fail. Maybe I'll get my s#!% together next week? Shooting footage for the rap video later today. Awesome? Prolly.

So little to do and so much time to do it!

No time for a blog today (so yesterday's posting of our teams' NFC project will have to suffice). I must go vote (didn't do it Wednesday like I planned... got caught up in a moviefilm). Then I must go figure out a costume for the evening as DWS is playing a house party on the south side of town shortly after I get off of work tonight. BUSY TIME!

Time... Not space. What?

I'm taking today off to prepare for the National Film Challenge weekend that is upon us in just six point five hours. Sure, that's plenty of time to write down some thoughts (I'm am already here...); however, I'm not feeling very strongly (or even weakly) about anything today. Also, I have some podcasts to catch up on. I should probably also eat sometime soon... If you're bored enough to be here right now, I'd suggest checking our the new DWS MySpace page and "friending" us (if you're still on MySpace). After that, maybe hop on over to FunnyorDie.com and watch the Ron Howard video... I like that guy. When you're done with those things, you should come back here and leave some kind of comment. Maybe you could write a short blog of your own that may inspire me to resume blogging on Monday? I'm out of ideas.

Notice of Late NO Blog

I had intended to write up a blog update from here at work; however, I'm not feeling particularly bloggy. So, today equals another fail. Hooray!

Another thoughtless day?

I'm checking in from work, just to announce to myself and any of "my friends" (eat your heart out McCain) that I don't have much to say this evening. I decided last night (after dawning sweat pants) that I was going to sleep in late today and lounge around in celebration of yesterday's job interview and the potential of new-job-getting. My day then took a turn for the better when a buddy introduced the idea of Chinese Buffet and some good ol' fashioned chiengin' out. This along with a couple of errands and a stop at the comic book store (which I've been neglecting recently) kept me out until a couple of hours ago when I arrived at work... The place where yesterday I was paid to sit through another painful "debate." Rather than repeat my previous ramblings, I'll merely comment that I was once again entertained by the twitter #debate08 channel (it's like people watching without the people). I've got a couple more hours around here tonight, which I'm going to use catching up on episodes of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia on Hulu, which when weighed against writing for an audience of me sounds like much more fun. Until Friday, adieu!

Monday=Fail

Under the false assumption that I have even one reader who is going to stop by today and wonder why there's no update, this post is to serve as notice. I don't have much to say today, and really, I kinda want to spend the next couple hours reading before I go to work at three. So, rather than bore the two of us with a review of Man On Wire (which was most excellent), a status non-update on my WTF Reports, or some words on the unofficial five year high school reunion that went down last weekend (sans Billy), there is this. I may still talk about any of those things, but it'll have to wait 'til Wednesday... I apologize that I couldn't provide any more time-consuming of a waste of time for you. As countless others, including Andy Samberg and Bill Hader, have said, "LATERZ!"
